An authorisation hold is a temporary hold of funds on your debit or credit card when a purchase is made. Depending on your card, the funds will appear as a deduction on your statement, or as a reduction in the balance of available funds until the booking is confirmed.
If your booking expires or is rejected, the authorisation hold will appear as a refund, or the amount will be released back to your payment account. This process may take up to 7 business days, depending on the processing time of your bank.
